By day, Rebecca helps mad scientists save the world as a communicator for a renewable energy laboratory. By night, she’s usually curled up with a good book or planning her next big adventure. Rebecca has been a reader her entire life, even known to stay inside with a good book during recess in elementary school. She always wanted to be an author, but she found her niche in writing for researchers.

Rebecca considers herself an “intentional” reader, meaning she is mostly looking to learn new things and see the world differently. However, she’ll happily curl up with a mindless beach read after a long day. Her favorite books are global perspectives, disability representation, #ownvoices, nuanced/uncomfortable topics, witty banter, endings that make her cry, diversity, little philosophers in YA, strange fantasy, and OK FINE, a bit of spicy romance. She does not enjoy self help books, extremely dense/conceptual classics, anything overly cheesy or cliché, meaningless violence, predictable thrillers, or main characters you’re supposed to hate.

Rebecca is happily married to a dude named Ben who primarily reads sci-fi, fantasy, and those dense classics she can’t get into. Opposites attract! They have one dog named Lyra (after The Golden Compass) and one cat named Halcyon (after a local beer, it was college).

Sally

She/her/hers
Santa Fe, NM / Minneapolis, MN, age 33, Gemini, liberal/socialist

Sally is a self-proclaimed chronic documenter and can usually be found knee deep in spreadsheets. She’s been described by her closest friend as one part calculator, one part bath bomb and one part sass; but whatever she is, she’s 100% reader. She is passionate about equity, diversity, representation, advocacy, politics, feminism, comedy, baths, books, and doggos.

By day, Sally works for a fortune 500 company doing risk analyzation and investigating fraud. After work, you might find her playing World of Warcraft (where she is the Guild Master and Raid Leader for an end-game semi-hardcore raiding guild). Or, you might find her working to advocate for women, trans (all genders), femme and non-binary in comedy with Fairplay, a non-profit she serves on the board for, alongside several other women from Minneapolis (find more info about Fairplay here).

She also loves performing comedy (improv and sketch), and will be back on the stage as soon as she can find one locally! Most recently, she produced Minnesota Tonight, a satirical news-comedy show that recorded live at the oldest satirical comedy theater in the country: Brave New Workshop. She has performed, taught, written and produced for dozens of comedy shows out of her home stage and love of her life, HUGE Theater.

She recently relocated from Minneapolis, MN to a small town just outside Santa Fe, NM, after meeting her wonderful partner in World of Warcraft (yes, really) and moving to combine households. Don’t be fooled into thinking she’s passive aggressive, though – she was only in Minneapolis for nine years. She was born, raised, and lived in New England until relocating to the Midwest for work. She’s a straight shooter, and will always tell you exactly what she thinks.

No bio would be complete without mention of her Chihuahua/Pug/Rat Terrier, Mango, who occupies her thoughts every single resting moment. Find Mango on instagram, too, at @mangompls.
